Select League: Junior, Intermediate & Senior Boys: ages 10 – 15

About Program

Passionate about basketball? Looking to play at a competitive level?

SBA’s Select League is just the program for you. The Select League is geared for players who are looking to play basketball in a competitive atmosphere. This is Not a house league or a REP program.

The Select Program is designed to assist and guide the development of committed athletes. Through weekly training and Saturday games from October to May, athletes will be trained to develop physical strength and on-court skills.

The Select Program:

  • October 14, 2017 – May 26, 2018 (29 weeks)
  • Dedicated coaches
  • Group practice one night per week – 1 1/2 hour
  • Games every Saturday – 1 1/2 hour
  • Games are officiated by TABO certified officials
  • 4 – 12 minute quarters with stop time
  • Team Uniforms
  • Team Photos
  • Player Insurance
  • Mid season and Year end tournaments

The Process:
Rather than tryouts, our coaches will hold a scrimmage styled draft through-out the month of October helping them to form well balanced teams. All Select league players will be guaranteed equal playing time in the first 3 quarters with the final 4th quarter to be played by those players who, at the coach’s discretion, have shown the best performances of the game.

Games:
On Saturdays at Wexford CI., 1176 Pharmacy Ave. E., Toronto

Practices:
On Wednesdays at David and Mary Thomson CI., 2740 Lawrence Ave. E., Toronto

Intermediate: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm (back gym)
Junior: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm (front gym)

About Coaches

“A good coach is someone who can change the outcome of a game. A great coach is someone who can change a life for the better.”

At SBA, our coaches are committed to foster your child’s individual development, and empower each player to help them reach, and exceed, their personal expectations. Under their expert care, your child will not only learn individual, sport-oriented skills, but also develop personally and socially. Through their education process, SBA coaches instill the love for the game and teach children the value of responsibility, respect, and the importance of teamwork.
