About the SBA
Formed in 1996 as a non-profit organization, the Scarborough Basketball Association has a simple game plan: to provide youth in, and around, the Scarborough area with the opportunity to grow and enjoy life through the sport of basketball.
For some of our youth, the SBA will be a launching pad for a successful basketball career in college or university. Some may even go on to become professional players, based on the fundamentals that we helped them develop.
However, for most, the SBA and its basketball programs are simply a means of building character, developing friendships and having a whole lot of fun.
Available Programs
The SBA develops players via outstanding house league programs that cater to players aged 5 to 19 years of age. In addition, it organizes rep teams for both boys and girls in all divisions ranging from U10 (Novice) to U19 (Junior).
Our season starts with the Rep Academy in September and is completed at the Basketball Ontario Provincial Finals in April and/or May. At each level (AAA, AA, A), we offer highly completive, sanctioned tournaments for boys and girls in Scarborough with teams participating from around Ontario and the United States.
The SBA is affiliated with Basketball Ontario and, therefore, supports the Fair Play Policies that it has set forth. These can be viewed at www.basketball.on.ca.
