Changes to Yoga for Basketball
Join Stacey Moore in our Wednesday night Yoga for Basketball Sessions with the SBA. This 45-minute session will give you core strength and stability, balance, standing strength, flexibility, improved range of motion as well as the power of vision and mental fortitude. All of this translates into becoming a stronger basketball player with increase range and overall power. All you need is a yoga mat, water bottle and an open mind to work and improve your foundation of wellness.
This yoga will stem from the vinyasa style of yoga as the most athletic style of yoga. Athletes will work through a series of flow sequences which will coordinate with music and breathing techniques, to develop strength and improved posture and will gain an awareness of their bodies in a kinesthetic manner.
The next Yoga for Basketball session will be at 5:45 – 6:30 p.m., instead of 7 – 7:45 p.m. This is the only session that will start at this time.
Fitness HIIT Training
Monday 6:00 – 6:45 pm
High intensity interval training or HIIT is defined as short, intense, unsustainable bursts of physical activity, paired with intervals of quick rests. This type of intense training causes a sort of metabolic disturbance which can result in the body burning calories at a higher rate up to 48-72 hours later. HIIT can also increase metabolism, reduce insulin resistance, improve cardiac function, produce faster gains in endurance levels than steady state cardio training and can be an effective way to recruit/build type 2 fast twitch muscle.
This program is designed for all players of all ages to assist and inspire them to take an active approach to their personal fitness. Please wear your running shoes and have a water bottle and towel available.
HIIT training will be back on Monday, April 12th.
Rookie Ball Training
Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:15 – 6:55 pm
This program is designed for beginners and less experienced players of all ages and will cover areas such as footwork, dribbling and fitness. Please wear your running shoes and have a basketball, pylons (if available), a water bottle and towel.
Advance Ball Training
Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 – 7:45 pm
Our original Zoom training continues. This program is designed for experienced players of all ages and will cover areas such as footwork, advance dribbling techniques and fitness. Please wear your running shoes and have a basketball, pylons (if available), a water bottle and towel.

We are planning to continue all of our free ZOOM training programs until the end of April for now.
