Girls Basketball Player Development Program

The SBA has partnered with Hoopers Loop, a basketball organization that’s focused on “developing the whole “person” (student-athlete) for the next level of success in sport and life.

At Hoopers Loop, “we close the gap between the athlete and high-performance professionals.”

Together, we will be piloting a program with a group of 14 athletes, so the sessions are intimate and safe, where the athletes are comfortable with sharing and entering a space of vulnerability inspiring growth!

The program is designed to build bridges between these players and high-performance professionals who can assist them with creating their own unique paths over the oncoming years.

The eight-week program’s curriculum is progressive, athlete-centered, and season-specific.

The price per athlete is $160.

Our total player development program is designed to enhance your overall well being by building bridges between you and high performance professionals around the world as you continue creating your own unique path to success.

PROGRAM

The program will begin
 April 21st, 2021 until June 7th, 2021,
 meeting every Monday & Wednesday (4:30PM-5:30PM).

Over the course of this program you will be guided and led by high performance industry professionals to continue levelling up on and off the court, through injury prevention, yoga & meditation, HIIT workout and pod sessions.

Live video sessions will be held online via ZOOM.

YOGA & MEDITATION

Student -athletes will build strength, endurance, flexibility, and harmony within themselves improving their overall well-being.

INJURY PREVENTION

Student-athletes will learn how to manage their bodies, and prevent common injuries promoting optimal performance.

HIIT

Student-athletes will learn how to use their entire body in movement and sharpen cognitive responses.

POD SESSIONS

Student-athletes will reflect on !earnings, individual development, and check in with one another.

About Hoopers Loop

Hoopers Loop was started by Wumi Agunbiade because she saw there was not the same amount of support for girls as there was for boys — who had scouting services and AAU programs — when she played.

While many of us at SBA know Wumi because of her history with the club, here is a bit about her basketball background:

  • Played for Charles Kissi in high school
  • 4 year starter at Duquesne University.  Only player to score 1700 points and 900 rebounds
  • Played in Europe for 3 years.  Sidelined due to early onset arthritis in her left knee
  • Assistant coach at University of Pittsburgh
  • Assistant coach for Raptors 905
  • Assistant coach Queens University
